The Ecole Supérieure de mode (ESM) of the ESG UQAM from January 2015 occupies this new Pavilion. The Pavilion consists of two buildings on St. Catherine Street East that have been completely modernized and to which one floor has been added. In addition to being brought back to the heart of the Central Campus, the succession of the fashion sector now benefits from all new spaces and luminous workshops with industrial design.

The renovation of the building is signed by the Gestion Georges Coulombe group, which specializes in revitalizing heritage buildings and architectural jewelry. “The idea is to revive buildings that otherwise either would be converted into condos or demolished,” says Georges Coulombe, President of the group, concerned about his role in the Montreal landscape.

Université de Montréal – Pavillon de la Mode

L’École supérieure de mode (ESM) de l’ESG UQAM depuis janvier 2015, occupe ce nouveau pavillon constitué de deux immeubles de la rue Sainte-Catherine Est qui ont été complètement modernisés, et auxquels un étage a été ajouté. En plus d’être ramenée au cœur du campus central, la relève du domaine de la mode bénéficie maintenant de tout nouveaux espaces et ateliers lumineux au design industriel.

La réfection du bâtiment est signée par le groupe Gestion Georges Coulombe, qui se spécialise en revitalisation d’immeubles patrimoniaux et de bijoux architecturaux. « L’idée, c’est de faire revivre des bâtiments qui autrement, soit qu’ils convertissent ça en condos ou qu’ils démolissent » dit Georges Coulombe, président du groupe, soucieux de son rôle dans le paysage montréalais.
